Dental Assisting Certificate
Program Goals and Outcomes
The Dental Assisting Certificate ensures students are both eligible to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board examination and earn the permits required by the state of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry to perform expanded dental assisting duties. Certificate earners gain the entry-level skills needed for workforce readiness, while also enhancing their qualifications for potential promotions or salary incentives.
- Equip students with the foundational knowledge and technical skills required for dental assisting roles.
- Prepare students to meet licensure and certification requirements in Oklahoma.
- Enhance career readiness for roles in dental practices or healthcare settings.
Students must complete 46 credit hours with a grade of ‘C’ or better in all required courses:

Rose State College and other Oklahoma colleges and universities have memorandums of understanding that identify course equivalencies. These agreements aid transfer students.
Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate and digital badge to showcase their skills in dental assisting. These credentials demonstrate workforce readiness and enhance employability in the dental field.
