Search for the next President of Rose State College

We have begun the search to identify the next President of Rose State College. We are fully committed to conducting an equitable, inclusive, and transparent national search that will attract a strong and diverse pool of candidates from throughout Oklahoma, the region, and the nation.

The Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) has been selected to assist with the Presidential search process. ACCT’s assistance will include providing support with the development of the Presidential Profile, recruiting highly competitive candidates, and working extensively with the College and the Board of Regents. ACCT has conducted over 750 community college searches and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our process. ACCT’s mission is to strengthen community college governance through education and advocacy.

Presidential Profile Development: Public Forums & Survey

We invite everyone to attend any one of the one-hour Public Forums on January 21, 2025. All the public forums will be held in the FNB Community Bank Ballroom in the RSC Student Union.

The Board’s Presidential Search Committee

The Board’s Presidential Search Committee will review the confidential applications, interview semifinalist candidates, and identify the final candidates to be forwarded to the Board of Regents for consideration. The Search Committee is comprised of the following members:

  • Brandon Clabes, Board of Regents and Search Committee Chairman
  • Laure Vaught Majors, Board of Regents
  • Bill Croak, Board of Regents Vice Chairman
  • Faculty, TBD (will join at the semi-finalist interview stage)
  • Student, TBD (will join at the semi-finalist interview stage)

Final Candidates

All final candidates will participate in open forums at Rose State College and the finalists will interview with the Board of Regents. We anticipate the open forums taking place in April 2025 and we will provide the dates, times, and location once they are confirmed. All employees, students, and community members will be invited to attend the open forums and complete feedback forums which will be reviewed as part of the deliberation process.

Recruitment

Our recruitment efforts will involve an open and thorough national search, seeking qualified candidates from all regions of the country. ACCT specializes in one-to-one recruitment of community college leaders. Additionally, to assist with this process, advertisements will be placed in the Chronicle of Higher Education and other major publications and websites.

Presidential Search Timeline*

January 21, 2025 ACCT facilitates a series of listening forums to solicit input for the development of a Draft Presidential Profile.
January 23, 2025 Regent’s Search Committee Training and Orientation: Committee receives, reviews, and edits the draft Presidential Profile. The Board of Regents to review, discuss, edit, and finalize the Profile.
January 24, 2025 Position is open and advertised. The Presidential Profile is posted on the College website and acctsearches.org. ACCT conducts targeted local, state-wide, and national one-to-one recruitment. 
February 21, 2025

Target Date for Receipt of Applications. Position open until filled.

Early March 2025 Regent’s Search Committee Meeting: Discussion and selection of confidential semifinalist candidates.
Mid/Late March 2025

Regent’s Search Committee Meeting: Confidential interviews with semifinalists. Committee deliberates and selects finalists to forward to the Board of Regents for further consideration.

Week of April 7, 2025

Finalists interview with the Board of Regents, tour campuses, participate in open public forums, and meet with direct reports.

Week of April 21, 2025

Board of Regents announces the next President of Rose State College.

June 1, 2025 Start date for next President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and the Board of Regents.

How to Apply:

This is a confidential search process. To ensure full consideration, application materials should be received no later than February 21, 2025. The position will remain open until filled.

Candidates will need to have the following information or materials available to complete the application:

  1. A letter of application (not to exceed 5 pages) that succinctly addresses the opportunities and challenges identified in the Position Profile and demonstrates how the candidate’s experience and professional qualifications prepare them to serve as the President of Rose State College.
  2. A current resume including an email address and cellular telephone number.
  3. A list of eight references: ex. two to three supervisors, two to three direct reports, and two to three faculty and/or staff members from current and former institutions.
