Composition Workshops (based on a 16-week semester schedule)

Fall Semester 2024 Composition Workshops

Composition workshops will be offered in person in HU136 (Humanities Building) on Fridays at 12 p.m.

  • 9/13(Week 4) MLA Formatting -- Professor Dill-Burnett
  • 9/20 (Week 5) APA Formatting -- Professor Fitzgerald
  • 9/27(Week 6) Writing Strong Thesis Statements -- Professor Hahn
  • 10/4(Week 7) Paragraph Structure and Development -- Professor Fitzgerald
  • 10/11(Week 8) Comp I Argument Strategies (Toulmin) -- Professor Fitzgerald
  • 10/18(Week 9) Comp II Argument Strategies (Rogerian) -- Professor Kirkman
  • 10/25(Week 10) Visual Argument Strategies -- Professor Kirkman

These are workshops, so there will be at least one activity that students participate in via personal laptops or by using the room’s computers.

Some workshops may be shorter than one hour, and others may run slightly longer. Students’ “time in” and “time out” will be recorded for the respective professor(s) of students attempting to receive extra credit.
