Rose State College was recently notified by the National Student Clearhinghouse (NSC) about a cybersecurity incident which may impact our students. The National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) reported a data breach which occurred due to a vulnerability found in file transfer software. No Rose State owned systems are believed to have been affected by this vulnerability.
The U S. Department of Education requires Rose State, along with approximately 3,600 other colleges and universities nationwide, to provide student information to the NSC.
NSC is conducting investigations to determine the extent of their respective breaches. At this time, NSC has provided Rose State no specific information about what records were impacted by these breaches, but these records could potentially include personally identifiable information. Rose State takes the privacy of our students’ information very seriously, so we are providing this notice directly to you. If you are affected by this data breach, a notice will be provided by NSC.
