Division Specific Foundation and College funded scholarships
Many donors have specific areas of interest when donating their resources for scholarship opportunities. The scholarships listed below by division are specific to particular areas of study and are financially supported by external donors, organizations, as well as Rose State College faculty and staff members who have a passion for the education and service they provide to students who have chosen Rose State College on their journey to success. Listed with each division, you will find descriptions of how each scholarship is funded.

Academic Business Division Scholarship (also noted in Tuition Waiver Scholarships)
The Academic Business Division Scholarship is a tuition waiver only. It will waive up to 12 credit hours of tuition per semester for fall/spring. Recipients must have already completed at least one semester of college, be a returning Rose State College student, and be a resident of the State of Oklahoma.
Business Division Scholarship
Business Division General Scholarships are partially supported through generous donations from faculty and staff members with the Business and Information Technology Division.
Business Division Community
The Business Division Community Scholarship was established by a retired Rose State College professor, Peter van der Goes. Professor van der Goes and Mr. Garry Cannon have continued to contribute to this scholarship in order to make a college education more obtainable for a qualified candidate seeking an Associate of Science degree in the Business and Information Technology division.
Business Division Faculty/Staff Scholarship
The faculty and staff of the Business and Information Technology Division took the initiative many years ago to establish the first division scholarship. Faculty and Staff continue to support division scholarships.
Clarence and Nancy Weisang Business Scholarship
The Clarence and Nancy Weisang Business Scholarship was established by the Phillip and Leonah Hein family; including their children, Linda, Matthew, Benjamin and Leslie along with their respective families. The Hein family set up this scholarship in loving memory of Clarence and Nancy Weisang, who with no children of their own, spent endless hours playing in the yard with the children of their friends and neighbors. By establishing this scholarship, the Hein's hope the legacy of caring for the children of friends and families by Mr. and Mrs. Weisang continues through educational assistance.
Susan Whitson-Rogers Business Division Scholarship
Due to appreciation for Sue Rogers and her commitment to the Rose State College Foundation, this Business Division General Scholarship was named after Trustee Rogers upon her recognition as a Tower Award recipient in 2011. She has since made the commitment to financially support the scholarship through her own donations. Trustee Rogers has been with the Foundation for many years and serves as the Foundation Treasurer. She is very active in the business community and owns both a Tax Accounting Service and a Tag Agency in Del City.

J.R. “Bob” Hoover Scholarship
Faculty and friends established the J.R. “Bob” Hoover scholarship in memory of long-time chemistry professor Bob Hoover. Professor Hoover’s family, friends and current faculty members in the Engineering and Science Division continue to support the scholarship in Bob Hoover’s memory.
NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) at Johnson Space Center
Know of a community college student who dreams of having a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) career? NCAS gives community college STEM students an authentic NASA experience with encouragement to finish a 2-year degree or transfer to a 4-year university to pursue a NASA-related field or career.

Northrop Grumman Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholarship
The goals of the Northrop Grumman STEM Scholarship Program are: improve educational opportunities for students, increase retention of students to degree achievement, and increase the number of well-educated and skilled employees in technical areas. The objectives of the program are designed to retain and advance students in postsecondary education leading to the successful completion of an associate degree and/or transfer to a four-year baccalaureate degree program or career placement.

Applicants who have been officially selected for one of the Health Science programs are considered for these scholarship opportunities. You will receive a notification from the division if you are selected for your desired program. To apply for these division scholarships, please complete the General Scholarship Application open January 1st with a priority deadline of April 1st for the named division scholarships and a priority deadline of June 1st for the tuition waiver scholarships.

The Academic Health Sciences Division Scholarship is a tuition waiver only. It will waive up to 12 credit hours of tuition per semester for fall/spring. Recipients must have already completed at least one semester of college, be a returning Rose State College student, and be a resident of the State of Oklahoma.
Dr. Jim Cook Health Sciences Scholarship
This scholarship was named in honor of former Rose State College President, Dr. Jim Cook. This is a Health Sciences Division General Scholarship partially supported through generous donations from faculty and staff members within the Health Science Division.
Erma Jean Newman Nursing Scholarship
This Nursing Program scholarship was established by Lloyd and Glenda Eisenhour, in memory of Erma Jean Eisenhour-Newman, Lloyd’s sister. Erma Jean was a Rose State College Faculty member in the Health Science Division Nursing program.
Health Sciences Division Scholarship

Larry and Jean Nutter Health Science Scholarship
This scholarship was named in honor of former Rose State College President, Dr. Larry Nutter and his wife, Jean. The scholarship is partially supported through generous donations from faculty and staff members within Health Sciences Division.
Senior Physicians/Dr. Lee Ison AND Dr. Felix Kay Nursing Scholarship
The Senior Physicians/Dr. Lee Ison AND Dr. Felix Kay Nursing Scholarship was established to honor senior physicians Dr. Lee Ison and Dr. Felix Kay, who have dedicated their lives to providing extraordinary care for patients and families in the Midwest City community.

Recipients must have already completed at least one semester of college, be a returning Rose State College student, and be a resident of the State of Oklahoma.
Alice Cannon McWaters Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in 1995 by Frances Cannon to honor charter Humanities Division faculty member Alice Cannon McWaters. Ms. McWaters completed 31 years as a faculty member at the College. The first award was made in the fall 1999 semester.
Craft Designers Association Scholarship
Members of the Craft Designers Association of Midwest City established this scholarship in 2005 to assist students majoring in art.
Frances White Hughes Scholars
Available to students majoring in one of the fine arts, arts management, or art librarian areas. To qualify for this scholarship you must major in one of the following: Art, Library Technical Assistant (Emphasis in fine arts), Photography, Music, Music Engineering and Industry Option, or Theatre. The Frances White Hughes Scholars program:
• Is funded by a gift from the estate of former Rose State College Regent, Dr. Frances White Hughes,
• Requires each member to complete 90 hours as an intern in the RSC Performing Arts Theatre or Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall equivalent environment each semester, and
• Requires each member to complete an approved business course each semester.
Those chosen to be a part of the Frances White Hughes Scholars program:
• Have earned and maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (high school or college)., and will • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester at Rose State College.
10 students per year are awarded the Frances White Hughes Scholars scholarship which includes $3,500 per semester and may be used toward tuition, fees, books, and other approved related expenses.
Humanities Division Scholarship
Humanities Division General Scholarships are partially supported through generous donations from faculty and staff members within the Humanities Division.
Larry and Jean Nutter Humanities Scholarship
This scholarship was named in honor of Rose State College President Emeritus, Dr. Larry Nutter and his wife, Jean. The scholarship partially supported through generous donations from faculty and staff members within Humanities Division.
Parker-Tinker-Wells-Hughes Scholarship
Dr. Frances W. Hughes, former Rose State College Regent, established this scholarship to encourage students in pursuit of degrees that combine business and the fine arts. Dr. Hughes is a member of both the Chamberlain P. Parker family of Oklahoma and the Tinker-Wells family of Louisiana. Desiring to preserve and perpetuate the memories and traditions of both families, as well as of her late husband Bernard Hughes, Dr. Hughes established this scholarship.
Stacy Messinger Scholarship
The Stacy Messinger Scholarship honors former Rose State College Humanities Professor Stacy Messinger. Established by Stacy’s mother in 2005, the scholarship benefits students in the Humanities Division.
Terry and Kay Britton Humanities Scholarship
The Terry and Kay Britton Humanities Scholarship was established through generous donations from Dr. and Mrs. Britton, community members, and many Rose State College employees in honor of the retirement of President Britton. Dr. Terry Britton honorably served Rose State College for over 40 years. Kay Britton served as a former RSC faculty member and as a wonderful hostess during many college events. Through this scholarship, the Britton’s wish to assist a single mother in her goal of completing her college education.

April Primo Social Science Scholarship
April Primo, a graduate of Rose State College, died in 2004. This scholarship was established by her family in her memory so that others might receive an education.
Health and Sports Science Scholarship
The Health and Sports Science scholarship is supported through donations from faculty and staff within the Health and Sports Science area.
Senator Cliff Aldridge Political Science Scholarship
Established by the former Senator himself, Senator Aldridge wants to encourage students to study political science and prepare themselves to make a difference in our democracy as future politicians.
Social Science Scholarship
The Foundation has established scholarships for each of the five divisions that are funded through monthly donations of faculty and staff members.
Psychology Scholarship
The Psychology Student Scholarship that was originally established through donations of Psychology department faculty members to award to Psychology majors. Since then, the Foundation has established scholarships for each of the five divisions that are funded through monthly donations of faculty and staff members.
Voncille Attebery Winter PhD Memorial Scholarship
This Social Science scholarship was established June 21, 2010, in memory of former Rose State College faculty member, Dr. Voncille Attebery Winter, by her sister Ms. Edna Ward.
