An anonymous donor has offered up a beautiful ’57 Chevrolet 4-door Bel Air Sedan to the Rose State College Foundation to help raise funds for student scholarships. The piece of history was put out as a “teaser” the night of the Foundation auction, April 21st. Only 250 raffle tickets are being sold for $200 each and the chance to own a piece of Americana.
As soon as the 250 tickets are sold, ticket holders will be notified and invited to attend the raffle drawing on a date and location to be determined.
The ’57 Chevy is described as an original 4-door Bel Air Sedan, 3-speed transmission, “265” 8-Cylinder. The roof and pillars are a Surf Green color with the remainder of the car in Highland Green. Accessories include Factory AM Radio with rear speaker, heater and defroster, all four BF Goodrich White Wall Tires, new white wall spare and original jack, lug wrench and car cover. The car has been driven approximately 2,000 miles in the last thirty years according to its owner.
In addition to this amazing raffle item, the Rose State College Foundation raised an additional $70,000 for student scholarships at its second annual auction at the Atkinson Heritage Center.
“We are thrilled at the turnout and response of the community to assist our students,” stated Cindy Mikeman, the Rose State College Foundation Executive Director. “It’s our goal to ensure that every student who wants to get a college education can do so, at an affordable price with quality professors and this auction will take us a long way.”
