Rose State College Soccer Players Recognized As All-American Published March 1, 2018

Two soccer players bring honor to the team in the fourth season back at Rose State

Midwest City, Okla. – The Raiders capped a successful season this past fall with two All-American selections. Revella Fisher and Jack Rose were awarded All-American honors this past season. Fisher, goalie for the women’s team was selected as a NJCAA Second-Team All-American, with Rose being name to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Men’s Scholar All-American Team’s second team.  

Revella Fisher, a sophomore from Owasso Oklahoma, helped lead the women’s Raiders to the District 1 championship game, where they finished 9-3 in conference, with a runner up finish in the NJCAA Division 1 Region 2. Fisher was the only female NJCAA All-American in Oklahoma. She finished the season with 113 saves and 9 shutouts. Fisher was awarded second-team behind Andrea Neves of the 2018 National Champion Tyler Community College.

Jack Rose, a sophomore Liberal Studies major, achieved a 3.5 GPA to qualify for the award. Rose, joins Rose State from Redcar, England. “Rose is a prime example of a student athlete. He is a good student, a good player and a good team captain,” said head coach Billy Martin. “It is not easy to manage school and sports, and it is quite impressive that he is able to do it well.” Martin also mentioned that Rose is very well liked on campus, that he feels that Rose is very deserving of the honor.

This year’s Junior College Division Men’s and Women’s All-American Teams featured a total of 90 players, who were formally acknowledged for their accomplishments at the All-America Luncheon on January 20, 2018 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in conjunction with the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Convention.
