Selected as a 2019 member of the Gallogly College of Engineering Distinguished Graduates Society
Rose State College Dean of the Engineering and Science Division, Dr. Wayne Jones, has been selected as a 2019 member of the Gallogly College of Engineering Distinguished Graduates Society. Jones is a 2001 graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he completed his Doctoral Degree in Industrial Engineering.
The Distinguished Graduates Society bases selection upon “prominent and distinguished professional or technical achievement, notable public service, outstanding contribution to and support of education, honors of election in organizations, and other contributions to the engineering profession” according to the Gallogy College of Engineering.
“We’re incredibly proud of Dr. Jones,” said Dr. Jeanie Webb, President of Rose State College. “He works tirelessly, ensuring that Rose State is providing the best education and student experience for our students.”
Dr. Wayne Jones currently serves as Dean of the Engineering and Science Division at Rose State College, which encompasses Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math degree programs and instruction. Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, and a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering, and a Doctoral Degree in Industrial Engineering. Jones’ time in the private sector included stops with Boeing Computer Services, Honeywell Inc. and Motorola. In 1980 Jones moved to the public sector taking a job at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base working on various projects, including project engineer for Cruise Missile Software and Chief Engineer for the B-1B Weapon System.
Jones eventually made the jump to academia and was appointed to his current role as Dean in 2010.
Dr. Wayne Jones currently resides in Oklahoma City and is married to Amber Jones where they have four children and nine grandchildren.
