While COVID-19 postponed the celebration in 2020, the annual Gala took place on April 1 in the new FNB Community Bank ballroom in the student union. More than 200 guests were in attendance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rose State College. Rose State College President Dr. Jeanie Webb welcomed guests including Rose State College Regents, former Rose State Presidents, Legislators and Rose State Retirees and reinforced, “Throughout the 50 years of Rose State’s existence it was visionaries who paved the way.”
Additional local dignitaries in attendance included U.S. Senator James Lankford, Oklahoma State Senator Brenda Stanley, Representative Andy Fugate, and Representative Robert Manger and official from the City of Midwest City.
The evening featured two presentations by Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell and Distinguished Alumni Brandon Long with the law firm of McAfee & Taft. Both Pinnell and Long spoke of the rich history of Rose State College, its impact of the community and so many student’s lives as well as the bright future that lies ahead.
