At Rose State College, donors and the college foundation helps to support its students by providing students with more than 400 scholarships each semester. These scholarships offer assistance to students who call Rose State home. Applications for scholarships opened Jan. 1 and with the first priority deadline for scholarships coming up on March 1, it is important students know the resources available to them.
Rose State’s leadership class, run by Rose State President Jeanie Webb, offers 150 scholarships annually to students. Through these scholarships and mentoring received through the President’s Leadership Class, many of these students leave Rose State debt-free as leaders in the community.
The Ticket to Rose Scholarship program was made to help those in the immediate surrounding area of Rose State. If you live in or graduated from the Carl Albert, Choctaw, Del City, Midwest City or Star Spencer school districts, you are eligible to apply for the Ticket to Rose Scholarship.
Just two miles down the road from Tinker Air Force Base, Rose State is committed to giving back to veterans, active military and military dependents. Named a military-friendly school by Victory Media five years in a row, Rose State is in the top 15% of schools in the nation that are doing the most to give back to the military. Rose State offers multiple military-specific scholarships through Tinker Air Force Base and Tinker Federal Credit Union, some of which offer leadership programs that teach communication skills, teamwork and character training for military spouses.
Many of the donors who make these scholarships possible make their donation with the desire for it to go to a specific division of Rose State. These divisions include the business and information technology division, engineering and science division, health sciences division, liberal arts & sciences divisions. Each division has its own set of scholarships available to its students. The priority deadline for division scholarships is April 1.
Rose State also offers opportunities for Native American students seeking to apply for tribal or agency grant funds. Once a Native American student is accepted as a student to Rose State and completes the FAFSA, the financial aid office can complete the needs analysis form and send it directly to the agency or tribe on behalf of the student.
Tuition waiver scholarships are also offered by Rose State to residents of Oklahoma only. However, these scholarships do not cover books or fees. Additionally, athletic scholarships are offered at Rose State in baseball, softball, as well as men’s and women’s soccer.
