Rose State College student Dynasty Poire is one of 210 Phi Theta Kappa members named a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. For this honor, Dynasty will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program helps new Phi Theta Kappa members defray educational expenses while enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are encouraged to assume leadership roles by participating in Society programs and are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. Nearly 1,500 applications were received.
Dynasty is a second-year student at Rose State College majoring in political science. She is the Chapter President of Phi Theta Kappa and a member of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature, Oklahoma College of Democrats, TRIO, and the Black Student Association.
“Dynasty is incredibly ambitious and goes above and beyond for her education,” said Dr. Emily Stacey, Rose State College Political Science Professor. “She takes on honors projects and a multitude of extracurricular activities to better herself, her education, and her future. Dynasty has been involved in several prestigious internships and programs over the last year.”
Dynasty has experience as an Oklahoma Democratic Party Fellow and interned with Sally’s List. She participates in the OK Policy Institute and the University of Oklahoma’s N.E.W. Leadership Program. Dynasty aims to become a criminal justice attorney or diplomat.
The funds provided by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation not only aid college completion but also allow students to engage in Society programs and develop leadership skills to become future leaders in their communities.
“I am thrilled to learn that Dynasty’s leadership accomplishments have been recognized by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and the Coca-Cola Scholars program!” said Leanne May, Co-Advisor of Rose State PTK. “I have the pleasure of working with her as an advisor of our PTK Chapter. Dynasty is very deserving of this award and I’m excited to watch her continue to grow as a leader this year.”
