Rose State College is pleased to announce that Beth Adkins, Office Manager for the Campus Resource Center, has been honored with the Creative Staff Innovation (CSI) Award at the annual Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges conference held in Tulsa, OK. The CSI Award recognizes exceptional staff members who bring forth innovative ideas that create positive change on their campuses.

Beth Adkins was nominated by her peers for her contributions to the development, promotion, and sustainability of the Rose State College Raider Necessities Food Pantry, a crucial resource that combats food insecurity within the campus community.

From the award submission, it was highlighted that:

  • Development: Beth played a pivotal role in identifying the need for a food pantry at Rose State College and developed a strategic plan to address food insecurity among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Promotion: Through creative marketing strategies, campus-wide campaigns, and the use of social media, Beth ensured that the food pantry was highly visible and accessible to all. Her efforts in forming partnerships with local organizations significantly expanded the pantry’s reach and impact.
  • Donations: Beth successfully secured donations from local businesses, community members, and within the college. Her ability to engage potential donors and convey the pantry's importance has ensured a consistent flow of resources, enabling the pantry to thrive and provide ongoing support to those in need.

Adkins' empathy and deep understanding of the challenges faced by students and staff have been instrumental in creating an environment where individuals feel comfortable seeking help. Beth’s compassionate approach has reduced the stigma associated with food insecurity, making the food pantry a trusted resource for the entire campus community.

“We are incredibly proud of Beth’s dedication to the campus community,” said Rose State College Campus Resource Center Vice President, Monique Bruner. “Her work exemplifies the spirit of compassion that the CSI Award recognizes, and her contributions to the college have made a lasting difference in the lives of our students and employees.”
