The Rose State College Business and Information Technology (BIT) Division has been selected to participate in the 2025 Project-Based Learning (PBL) Institute, which will take place from June 3 to 6 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts.
BIT Dean Dr. Charles DeSassure will represent the division at the PBL Institute. Project-based learning is a teaching method that involves students working long to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge.
“We are working to ensure that real-world, hands-on assignments are integrated into every course within the BIT division,” stated BIT Dean Dr. Charles DeSassure. “After attending this institute, the goal is to share the information with the BIT faculty and staff through in-house workshops. Our focus is simple and clear: we strongly believe in the workforce and getting our students jobs.”
The Center for Project-Based Learning, launched in 2016, uses over 50 years of WPI’s experience and expertise in project-based learning to support faculty and administrators from colleges and universities worldwide in their efforts to implement, improve, evaluate, or integrate project-based learning on their campuses.
