Rose State College has announced a partnership with the University of Oklahoma to establish the inaugural Veterans Education and Career Fair, an event making education and career resources more easily accessible for military members. The fair is set for 9 a.m., Monday, April 14, within Rose State College’s Jeanie Webb Student Union, located at 1910 Hudiburg Dr., Midwest City.

The Veterans Education and Career Fair is designed to provide military-connected individuals with valuable information about educational opportunities available in the state of Oklahoma. Attendees will have the chance to learn about programs offered by two-year and four-year institutions and technical schools and connect with employers to explore career opportunities. This event is open to Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, Spouses, and Dependents.

"We are thrilled to partner with Rose State College to create an event that focuses on the unique needs of our military community," said Jeff Blahnik, vice president of the Division of Enrollment Management and Chief Enrollment Officer at OU. "This fair is a great opportunity for veteran students to explore educational pathways and career prospects that can significantly impact their future. We are committed to supporting our Oklahoma veterans and their families."

Attendees of the inaugural Veterans Education and Career Fair can expect to learn about various educational programs offered by two-year and four-year institutions, as well as explore job opportunities that align with their skills and experiences. The event welcomes spouses and dependents, offering them support and information about educational and career opportunities.

"We are honored to be a partner with OU to support our veterans, active-duty service members, and military families as they transition into new career and educational opportunities,” said Travis Lightsey Jr., director of the Career Development Center at Rose State College. “This event is more than just a job fair—it’s a gateway to meaningful careers, higher education and resources tailored to the unique strengths and experiences of our military community. Our goal is to empower those who have served by connecting them with employers, educators and organizations ready to invest in their future."
