In 2013, Dr. Jeanie Webb was chosen by the Rose State College Board of Regents to assume the role of the institution's seventh president. Her illustrious career in higher education spans over 30 years, where she has not only excelled as an accomplished administrator but has also shown unwavering dedication as a faculty member.
Before joining the Rose State College community, Dr. Webb held various faculty and administrative positions at Northeastern State University, embarking on a journey that saw her progress from an instructor to an assistant professor and, ultimately, an associate professor. During her time at Northeastern State University, she imparted knowledge at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Webb also took on pivotal leadership roles as the Dean of the NSU Muskogee Campus and the Dean of the NSU University Center at Tulsa, overseeing the campuses at Muskogee and Claremore.
In 1998, Dr. Webb became a valuable part of the Rose State College team, initially serving as the Associate Vice President of External Affairs. Her exemplary contributions led to her promotion to the role of Vice President for Student Affairs in 2000. A significant milestone in her career came on July 1, 2013, when she became the first female president of Rose State College.
Under her influential leadership, Rose State College has firmly established itself as one of Oklahoma's and the region's foremost community colleges. This achievement has been realized through a commitment to academic excellence, robust community partnerships, the development of educational pathways, and a dedicated focus on workforce development. Impressive recent achievements include securing a $900,000 EDA grant and a substantial $1.3 million donation from Dick and Glenna Tanenbaum for launching the Tanenbaum Aerospace and Cybersecurity Center, housing Oklahoma's inaugural Center of Workforce Excellence in Aerospace & Cybersecurity. Dr. Webb's leadership at Rose State College is also evident in the pending addition of a Bachelor’s in Technology in Cybersecurity. Notably, President Webb's efforts resulted in acquiring $9.4 million in ARPA funds, doubling Rose State College's future nurse workforce contributions.
Under her administration, the college embarked on a journey of growth and development, which included the construction of a Student Housing Complex, the establishment of a new Student Union, and investments totaling $22 million in campus infrastructure upgrades.
Dr. Webb's educational journey is a testament to her commitment to learning and growth. She began her education at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, later transferring to Northeastern State University, where she earned both her B.A. in Social Studies Education and her M.S. in College Teaching/Personnel Services. Her academic pursuits culminated in her Doctoral degree in Higher Administration/Adult Education from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Webb further enriched her academic portfolio through post-doctoral work at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and also had the privilege of being a Kellogg Fellow at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Webb is not only a leader within the academic arena but also a staunch advocate of leadership training, community involvement, and workforce development. Her commitment to community development is reflected in her role as the Vice President of Community Development on the Executive Board of the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce, and she currently serves as Chair of the OETA Authority Board. She has also served as the Past President (2009) of the Chamber. She further contributes to the community as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Greater OKC Chamber of Commerce, the Midwest City Economic and Development Advisory Committee, and the Oklahoma Business Roundtable. Dr. Webb's influence extends to her positions as a Past Chair of both the Council of Presidents and the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges.
Her outstanding achievements are further exemplified by the many prestigious awards and honors she has received in recent years. These include the 2023 Junior Service League of Midwest City - Linda Croak Service Award, the 2023 Oklahoma Hospitality Club "Ladies in the News" Honoree, the 2023 East Central Alumni Hall of Fame induction, the 2022 Phi Theta Kappa's Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction, the 2021 Outstanding Alumna for the School of Liberal Arts at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, the 2020 and 2016 Midwest City Chamber of Commerce Visionary Leader Awards, and her recognition as one of The Journal Record's Top 50 Oklahoma Women "Making a Difference" in 2015. These accolades stand as a testament to her exceptional contributions and leadership.
Dr. Webb maintains strong ties with the Tinker Community, as evidenced by her participation in both the 72d ABW COMMSTARS Program and the 552d ACW Honorary Commanders Program.
Dr. Webb is supported in her endeavors by her husband, Roger Webb, who holds the title of President Emeritus at the University of Central Oklahoma. Their family is further enriched by their 22-year-old daughter, Anna Grace, who graduated from Rose State College and is currently pursuing her education degree.
