Cybersecurity
Program Goals & Outcomes
The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity prepares students for employment in local, state, and federal agencies as well as private positions such as cybersecurity analyst, cybersecurity threat analyst, product manager, cyber management, cyber threat vulnerability, incident response, digital forensics, cybersecurity tester, and compliance risk analysis.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Utilize best practices in cybersecurity;
- Implement communication strategies for diverse cybersecurity environments;
- Analyze information systems to harden cybersecurity;
- Evaluate relationships between laws, ethics, privacy, and security;
- Appraise technologies in cybersecurity; and
- Perform the responsibilities of a cybersecurity professional.
Program Entrance Requirements
- Admission to Rose State College;
- Completion of an Associate in Applied Science degree or higher with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher; and,
- Students must complete all technical coursework with a grade of C or higher and maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher to graduate.

Students must earn a “C” or better in these courses to be eligible for graduation.

Acceptable courses include HSBC 1104, HSBC 1224, HSBC 2103, HSBC 2114, GEOG 1114, or any course with the following prefixes: ASTR, BIOL, CHEM, ENSC, GEOL, METR, PHSC, PHYS.

BAT Cybersecurity Admission Process
Steps to Apply
Step 1: Apply to Rose State College
Check Your Enrollment Status
Currently enrolled or recently enrolled students can skip this step.
Apply for Admission (New Students)
New students to Rose State College must submit an RSC application for admission.
Re-Admission (Returning Students)
If you have not been enrolled for two or more consecutive 16-week semesters, you must submit an RSC application for readmission.
Step 2: Send Transcripts
Submit transcripts from all previously attended schools unless already submitted.
Step 3: Apply to BAT Cybersecurity
BAT Cybersecurity Application Process
Apply by the priority date to ensure full consideration. Applications submitted after the priority date will still be reviewed, but are not guaranteed acceptance into the program. Admission notifications will be sent via email.
Note: Admission to the College does not guarantee admission to the BAT Cybersecurity program. Upper-division course registration is by departmental permission only.
