Earth & Environmental Sciences – Natural Resources

Program Goals & Outcomes

The Associate of Science Degree Program provides students with the analytical skills and scientific knowledge to expand and apply critical thinking to all facets of learning. The expected program outcome is to provide a comprehensive lower-division education for students who plan to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program in Environmental Science and/or Environmental Sustainability.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Analyze information concerning earth & environmental issues;
  • Recommend workable solutions to the technical, social, or economic challenges inherent in earth and environmental science;
  • Apply core concepts or methods from natural and physical sciences to solve problems; and
  • Generate testable hypotheses concerning earth and environmental problems.

Students in the program must complete courses listed in Program/Emphasis Requirements and Support and Related sections with a minimum grade of “C” in each course in order to receive the Associate of Science Degree.
