Rose State College Earns National Recognition for Nonpartisan Democratic Engagement Efforts

A commitment to building nonpartisan democratic engagement has earned Rose State College the Highly Established Action Plan Seal for the 2026 election cycle, recognizing the College’s leadership in civic engagement among its students and campus community.

The designation is based on the College’s development of a comprehensive, nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan, evaluated using the Strengthening American Democracy Action Planning Guide (SADG) Rubric. RSC earned an impressive 33 out of 36 possible points, exceeding the 31.5-point threshold required for the Highly Established distinction.

Rose State is one of just 129 campuses nationwide to receive this recognition for the 2026 election cycle, placing it among a select group of institutions leading the way in civic engagement and voter participation initiatives.

The action plan outlines strategic efforts to increase voter education, registration, and participation while maintaining a strictly nonpartisan approach. These initiatives are designed to empower students with the knowledge and resources needed to become informed and active participants in the democratic process.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to preparing students not only for careers, but for meaningful participation in their communities,” said Dr. Emily Stacey. “At Rose State College, we believe civic engagement is a vital component of student success and community impact.”

The Highly Established Action Plan Seal highlights institutions that demonstrate excellence in planning, implementing, and sustaining democratic engagement efforts. Rose State’s strong performance indicates its leadership role in promoting civic responsibility across campus.
