Rose State, Community Health Centers of Oklahoma Launch Raider Care to Expand Access to Healthcare

Rose State College welcomed students, faculty, staff, community members, and partners today to celebrate the grand opening of Raider Care, a new on-campus facility dedicated to expanding access to healthcare and wellness services.

Guests gathered at Raider Care & Resource Center for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony along with facility tours, marking a major milestone in the College’s commitment to supporting both student success and community well-being.

Raider Care, made possible through a partnership with Community Health Centers of Oklahoma, now provides comprehensive, affordable healthcare services to individuals of all ages, regardless of insurance status or income. Raider Care has already begun serving patients.

“The addition of Raider Care reflects who we are as a College,” said RSC President Travis Hurst. “Rose State remains student-focused, community-centered, and committed to removing barriers to success. Through this initiative, students now have access to essential services like primary healthcare, mental health support, and assistance with basic needs, all in one place, right here on campus.”

Raider Care offers a wide range of services, including primary medical care, lab services, case management, dental services, and Healthy Start services. New patients receive more than 20 lab tests during their initial visit, ensuring a strong foundation for ongoing care.

Community Health Centers of Oklahoma operates as a nonprofit clinic focused on delivering affordable, comprehensive healthcare, especially for underserved populations. Insured patients pay their standard copay, while uninsured patients receive care based on a sliding fee scale determined by income and family size. On-site case managers assist patients with insurance enrollment and renewal.

Patients also benefit from the federal 340B Prescription Drug Program, which provides significantly reduced pricing on outpatient medications at participating Walgreens locations in Del City and Midwest City.

The center is open to the public; individuals do not need to be Rose State students to receive care.

“By bringing Community Health Centers of Oklahoma directly onto campus, Raider Care connects students and members of the broader community to high-quality care that might otherwise be out of reach,” said RSC Regent Brandon Clabes. “This is not just convenient. It’s transformative.”
