BAT Graduates Make History at Rose State College

Graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) program made history at Rose State College on May 8, 2026, when they walked across the stage to receive their degrees. These students formed the first cohort to complete a four-year degree at RSC.

Students took classes, worked on group projects, completed internships and a capstone, and earned various certifications throughout the program, including CISSP, CompTIA, networking, and situational certifications. Outside of the classroom, students also participated in Cyber Club.

Coun Webster said she was proud to be part of the first cohort of graduates.

“I love the fact that we are opening a door for a huge opportunity for all of the future candidates,” Coun said. “It’s cool to know that we will be an inspiration to a lot of people who want to go into cybersecurity.”

Coun emphasized that students are never alone in the program. She said faculty and staff members help students whenever they struggle. She also spoke about the friendships she developed with classmates she worked alongside throughout the program.

When asked what advice she had for incoming students, Coun said, “Don’t be afraid to put your name out there and definitely be willing to shake hands. Get to know people because it will open so many doors that you don’t realize.”
