Program Goals & Outcomes

The Networking micro-credential provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to understand and configure basic networking concepts and devices. This includes configuring routers, switches, and access points, as well as understanding network security basics.

All micro-credentials are fully stackable with all other academic programs, allowing students to build customized pathways toward certificates, associate degrees, or even bachelor’s degrees.

Students must complete the required coursework to earn this micro-credential.

  • Configuring Routers and Switches
  • Wireless Networking
  • Network Security Basics
  • Troubleshooting Network Issues
  • Understanding Network Protocols
  • Configuring Network Devices
  • IP Addressing and Subnetting
  • Successfully complete the Networking Essentials course with a grade of C or better.
  • Pass a performance-based assessment demonstrating the ability to configure a network.
  • Pass the CompTIA Network+ certification exam or an equivalent industry-recognized exam.

After completing this micro-credential, you will receive a digital badge to showcase your skills. This badge highlights your ability to understand and apply foundational networking concepts.
