Program Goals & Outcomes

The Mechanical Design Micro-Credential offers skills-focused professional development and experiential learning activities for students or working professionals seeking a foundational understanding of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Agile Project Management. This credential is earned by completing one required, instructor-led course at Rose State College, titled “Introduction to Mechanical Design and Project Management,” and two self-paced certifications.

All micro-credentials are fully stackable with all other academic programs, allowing students to build customized pathways toward certificates, associate degrees, or even bachelor’s degrees.

  • Complete the “Introduction to Mechanical Design and Project Management” instructor-led course. Topics covered include CAD overview, Agile Project Management, and logistics for completing self-paced certifications.
  • Earn the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) in Mechanical Design certification, demonstrating understanding of features used to create 3D parts and assemblies.
  • Complete an Agile Project Management certification or the Agile Certified Practitioner certification from any provider.

After completing this micro-credential, you will receive a digital badge to showcase your expertise in mechanical design and Agile project management techniques.
