The Radiologic Technology Program at Rose State College has delivered a 100% pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentialing exam since 2015. Since 2004, students in the program have achieved an impressive 99% pass rate, demonstrating the program’s consistent excellence in preparing future healthcare professionals.
Registered Radiologic Technologists serve as credentialed professionals who provide direct patient care and perform medical imaging procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. These professionals serve in diverse healthcare environments, including hospitals, emergency departments, surgery suites, physician offices, and fluoroscopy suites.
The Joint Committee on Accreditation in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredits the RSC Radiologic Technology Program. Graduates who earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiologic Technology qualify to take the ARRT national credentialing exam. The program requires full-time, daytime enrollment for six consecutive semesters beginning each fall. Students master didactic coursework in the classroom, practice clinical skills in RSC’s digital laboratory, and apply their knowledge through clinical rotations in healthcare facilities.
The program equips students to succeed as entry-level radiologic technologists, meeting the community’s healthcare needs. Key goals include:
- Clinical Competence – Students practice safe radiation practices, deliver effective patient care, and position patients for diagnostic imaging.
- Communication – Students and graduates communicate clearly in writing, speech, and clinical settings.
- Professionalism – Students model professional behaviors, follow ethical practices, and pursue ongoing professional growth.
- Critical Thinking – Students solve problems, select technical factors that produce optimal image quality, and perform non-routine procedures.
Faculty lead by example. All full-time professors – Katherine Holloway, Marque Watson, and Will Humphrey – graduated from the program at RSC. Additionally, all but one of the adjunct faculty are also RSC program graduates, ensuring students learn from professionals who share the same foundation.
“I am proud to be a product of the RSC Radiologic Technology Program and am honored to be leading this program in continued excellence,” said RSC Radiologic Technology Program Director Katherine Holloway. “Our program has had a strong reputation for producing competent, compassionate, and skilled radiographers who take care of countless patients in our community and around the world. This commitment is echoed in our consistent, successful performance on the ARRT National Credentialing Exam with a 100% Pass Rate since 2015!”
