Rose State College Celebrates Leadership Transition

Dr. Jeanie Webb Retires, President Travis Hurst Takes Office

Rose State College marks a historic transition as Dr. Jeanie Webb retires after 12 years of distinguished leadership. Her departure opens a new chapter with President Travis Hurst stepping into his role as the college’s 8th president. 

Honoring Dr. Jeanie Webb’s Legacy

Dr. Webb led Rose State through a period of dynamic growth and transformation. Under her leadership, the college expanded academic programs, modernized facilities, and strengthened its student-centered mission.

For Dr. Webb and her family, Rose State has been more than a workplace—it has been a second home. Reflecting on her time at Rose State, Dr. Webb shared:

“Together, we’ve achieved so much- growing our campus, expanding our programs, and most importantly, transforming lives through education. We’ve faced challenges and celebrated victories, always with resilience and a shared commitment to our students and our mission. I leave confident that the College is in strong, visionary hands, and I can’t wait to watch all the incredible things yet to come.”

Dr. Webb expressed her deep appreciation for her husband, Roger, and their daughter, Anna Grace, whose journey at Rose State has been a source of pride and joy for their family.

Her leadership leaves a lasting legacy and a strong foundation for the college’s future.

Welcoming President Travis Hurst

President Travis Hurst brings pride, vision, and a deep personal connection to the role. Having served in multiple leadership positions at Rose State, he understands the college’s impact on students, families, and the broader community.

His wife, Dr. Amy Hurst, is the Biology Program Coordinator in the STEM Division, and their two sons are Rose State graduates who found direction and leadership through its programs.

President Hurst remains committed to the college’s tradition of excellence. In his first message to the Rose State community, President Hurst shared:

“I am honored to begin serving as Rose State’s 8th president with deep gratitude for the trust placed in me by the Rose State Board of Regents and for the exceptional leadership of Dr. Jeanie Webb, whose lasting legacy has shaped this college we call home. Together, we will continue expanding opportunities, innovating boldly, and supporting every student’s journey with the same spirit of purpose and community that defines Rose State.”
 

He thanked the Rose State College Board of Regents for their trust and expressed his gratitude for Dr. Webb’s exceptional leadership and mentorship.

As Rose State begins this new chapter, it remains focused on its mission: transforming lives through affordable, high-quality education.
