Rose State College Launches Early Boarding Pilot Program with Mid-Del High Schools

Rose State College is partnering with Mid-Del Public Schools to launch an innovative concurrent enrollment initiative, the Early Boarding Pilot Program, beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year.

The concurrent program will provide Carl Albert High School, Midwest City High School, and Del City High School juniors and seniors with expanded access to college-level coursework while still in high school at no cost to eligible students.

Rose State College is introducing the Early Boarding Pilot Program for the 2026–2027 academic year. Through this pilot, RSC will cover the cost of mandatory fees for all Mid-Del students who meet concurrent enrollment eligibility requirements as defined by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Policy and who are successfully and timely enrolled in concurrent courses at Rose State College.

The scholarship is available only to students who enroll by Friday, August 14, 2026. It does not cover late enrollments or course materials. Eligible juniors may receive funding for up to 9 credit hours, and eligible seniors for up to 18 credit hours. This is a one-year pilot program for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The Early Boarding Pilot Program is designed to remove financial barriers and accelerate college readiness by allowing students to earn college credit in a supportive, structured environment. Through this partnership, participating students will have the opportunity to begin their higher education journey early, gain confidence in a college setting, and reduce the time and cost required to complete a degree.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to student success and college access,” said President Travis Hurst, Rose State College. “By eliminating financial barriers and providing a clear track to higher education, we’re empowering students to take the next step toward their academic and career goals.”

Mid-Del Public Schools leaders emphasized the value of collaboration in preparing students for life beyond high school.

“We are excited about the Early Boarding Program and the opportunities this will provide graduates of our high schools here in Mid-Del,” said Superintendent Dr. Rick Cobb, Mid-Del Public Schools. “Students who start earning college credit while still in high school are really walking across an academic bridge that gives them a head start in pursuing their post-secondary goals. We know this partnership will benefit Mid-Del Public Schools, Rose State College, and the students we share.”

The program will launch as a pilot in fall 2026, with plans to evaluate outcomes and explore future expansion.
