Rose State College Marketing & Communications Team Wins at 2025 OCPRA Awards

Rose State College’s Marketing and Communications team earned honors at the 2025 Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) Annual Awards Competition, taking home a variety of accolades that highlight the team’s creativity, collaboration, and dedication to excellence.

The awards were presented on Monday, July 14, during the annual OCPRA Summer Conference at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa. With 607 entries submitted from 23 institutions across 56 categories, the competition marked its 33rd year recognizing outstanding work in higher education marketing and communications.

RSC Designer David Hamric earned three awards, including:

  • An Excellence Award in the Postcard/Invitation category for the “RSC Alumni Sticker Mailer”
  • An Excellence Award in the Most Improved Design category for the “RSC Foundation Brochure”
  • A Grand Award (first place) in the Event/Program or Specialty category for the “RSC Holiday Season Extravaganza”, which he shared with RSC Photographer Ken Beachler

Beachler also earned an Excellence Award in Campus, Architecture, or Landscape Photography, and he and Hamric together received an Honorable Mention in the Campaign category for the “Glad I Chose Rose” campaign.

Kaitlyn Weldon, Internal Communications and Social Media Coordinator, brought home two awards for her innovative and engaging content:

  • An Excellence Award in the Social Media Campaign category for “RSC Elves, Oscar and Rose”
  • A Grand Award for DIY or Remixed Materials for “Oscar and Rose – Accessories and Vehicles”

Peyton Shaw, RSC Videographer, was honored with a Grand Award in the Original Illustration category for her creative work on the “Rowdy Raider Video Slate.”

The Marketing and Communications team also received multiple awards as a group:

  • An Excellence Award for the “Raider Days Instagram Photo Frame”
  • An Excellence Award in the Landing Page or Microsite category for the “Rose.edu Programs Page”
  • A Grand Award for the “Rose.edu Site Redesign”, recognizing the comprehensive and user-focused overhaul of the college’s website
