Rose State College hosted the annual Art Show and Exhibition at the RSC Performing Arts Center on April 22, 2026. Students showcased paintings, sculptures, murals, and mixed-media pieces that impressed the crowd with creativity and attention to detail.
Each year, a panel of faculty and staff from across campus judges the Student Art Show and selects the winners.
The 2026 winners and honorable mentions included:
First place: Evran Oaks “Disordered Mind”
Second place: Madison Johnson “Chachiro”
Third place: Jaye Lupe “A Perfectionist’s Rendering of Falling Apart.”
Honorable Mention: Sierra Maddox “Looking at it from All Direction”
Honorable Mention: Deborah Ann Davenport “Under My Skin”
Students from the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 mural classes also displayed their murals around the corner from the Art Show. After the reception ended, attendees admired the murals.
RSC Professor Suzanne Thomas emphasized the value of displaying student artwork on campus.
“The Student Art Show is an important part of the Art Program at RSC,” said Suzanne Thomas. “Students work hard in their classes to create pieces for this show. It is rewarding for students to invite family, friends, and faculty to come see their work.”
