RSC Foundation’s 2026 Run for the Roses Derby

Guests donned their finest Derby hats and bow ties and headed to the starting gate for an unforgettable evening at the Rose State College Foundation’s Run for the Roses on April 24, 2026. The event crossed the finish line in style, delivering a high-spirited night of racing, revelry, and record-setting generosity, all in support of Rose State College students. The 2026 Run for the Roses raised more than $40,000, a significant increase from the previous year’s event.

From the moment the gates opened, the energy was off to the races. Mint julep vibes set the pace while attendees mingled, bought their horses, and placed their bets with necklace tickets and cards.

President Hurst and Foundation leadership welcomed the crowd, recognizing the student volunteers who helped keep the evening running like a well-trained thoroughbred. The dessert auction proved to be a true crowd favorite, with bidders jockeying for position on delectable live auction items while the silent dessert auction closed in a flurry of last-minute bids.

With the triumphant call of the trumpet, the Run for the Roses horse races were underway. Heat after heat kept the energy at a full gallop all evening, cheering as anticipation rose and fell with each stride. Seven thrilling heats led to a dramatic eighth, setting the stage for the final race, where one lucky horse claimed the crown.

The excitement didn’t stop at the track. The Wild Card Raffle and the much-anticipated Booze Wagon drawing added to the evening’s winning moments, sending lucky guests home with coveted prizes.

“This year’s Run for the Roses was truly a photo finish in the best way,” said Anita Poole-Endlsey. “The excitement, the generosity, and the spirit in the room reminded us all why we hold this event each year. Because of our incredible donors and sponsors, we’re creating opportunities that will carry our students far beyond the finish line.”

The Rose State College Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to its generous donors, sponsors, and community partners, whose support made the evening a resounding success. Their investment ensures that more students have access to scholarships, programs, and the resources they need to thrive.
