Course Delivery Options
When exploring educational programs, students will encounter different course modalities, which refer to the delivery method and the type of interaction expected. Each modality offers benefits depending on individual learning styles, schedules, and preferences. Whether you prefer face-to-face interaction, need flexibility, or want a combination of both, Rose State offers options to meet diverse needs.
Online
All instruction is online with no required face-to-face meetings. Students access course materials and assessments online.
Face-to-Face
Students and instructors meet in a classroom for all lectures and activities.
Hybrid
A mix of online and face-to-face instruction. Some sessions are conducted in person while others are online. Physical attendance is required for certain components.
Flex
Flexible attendance options allow students to choose between online and in-person participation on a class-by-class basis. No mandatory physical attendance.
HyFlex
Combining online, flexible, and mandatory on-campus attendance. Students attend certain in-person sessions while also completing some components online or synchronously.
Telecourse-Audio/Video
Courses delivered via audio/video recordings with limited interaction. Some may have in-person requirements.
