The Village Stairwell Tread Replacement FAQ
- Will the residents’ possessions that are left in the room always be safe and secure?
- Yes, the residents’ possessions left in the apartments will always be safe and secure. The contractors will not be entering any apartments. As long as residents lock their apartments when they leave, no one will access their units during construction.
- What transportation, if any, will be provided for the residents who will live at the hotel but do not have a vehicle?
- Because the hotel is just 0.3 miles away from campus, no transportation will be provided.
- Will residents be allowed to get into their apartments if they forgot something they desperately need for school?
- No, the apartment will not be accessible during the construction period. It will be considered a construction zone, and entry will not be permitted for any reason. We will communicate with the residents to plan and take everything they will need with them beforehand.
- What happens if the construction takes longer than anticipated?
- While we expect the project to proceed as planned, weather or construction delays may occur. We will keep residents informed throughout the process and provide temporary housing until the apartments are ready for return.
- Can residents cancel their Housing contract and get their deposit back?
- Residents can cancel their Housing contract by August 1, 2025, without penalty.
- Will residents who choose to stay at the hotel be able to use the laundry facilities, including washing machines and dryers, during their stay?
- Free laundry facilities will be available at The Village. However, if students choose to use the machines at the hotel, they will be responsible for the cost.
