Counseling FAQ
How Do I Know If I Need Counseling?
Anyone can be under stress from problems that are difficult to handle, and this can lead to feelings of confusion, worry, or ongoing sadness. Counselors are trained to address with you concerns such as test anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, time management, anxiety and depression, coping with loss, drug and alcohol use, and many others.
What Can I Expect at My First Appointment?
You will fill out several forms that give us basic information about you and your concerns, a brief assessment form, as well as client rights and professional disclosure forms. When you first meet with a counselor, they will get to know you and ask a number of questions to evaluate your concerns. You will be able to discuss what is going on and to ask any questions you may have.
Is There Any Fee?
Rose State College students, faculty, and staff can receive short-term counseling at no cost. For issues that require longer term counseling, we will refer you to agencies or individuals in your area who may charge a fee and/or utilize your insurance plan.
