Option 9

HOW DOES THE COLLEGE COMPLY WITH TITLE IX AND OTHER ANTI-DISCRIMINATION REQUIREMENTS?

Title IX Compliance

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Here are the policies the College uses to ensure compliance.

Policy for handling complaints of  Title IX matters.

Sometimes, Title IX complaints can be handled with an  informal process.  In those cases, here’s the policy the College will use.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a federal law that protects employees against discrimination based on certain specified characteristics: race, color, national origin, sex, and religion. Under Title VII, an employer may not discriminate with regard to any term, condition, or privilege of employment.

“No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefit of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity that receives Federal financial assistance.”

Retaliation in any form will not be tolerated at Rose State College.  To better understand intentional and unintentional retaliation and how it will be handled in the event it occurs, please review the official Retaliation policy.
