Rose State College has been notified by the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) about a potential cybersecurity incident that may affect our students. The National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) reported a data breach that occurred due to a vulnerability found in file transfer software. No Rose State-owned systems are believed to have been affected by this vulnerability.

The U S. Department of Education requires Rose State, along with approximately 3,600 other colleges and universities nationwide, to provide student information to the NSC.

NSC is conducting investigations to determine the extent of their respective breaches. At this time, NSC has provided Rose State with no specific information about what records these breaches impacted, but these records could potentially include personally identifiable information. Rose State takes the privacy of our students’ information very seriously, so we are providing this notice directly to you. If you are affected by this data breach, NSC will provide you with a notice.
