If you are a current RSC student:
Summer aid is awarded separately from fall and spring semesters. Awards are determined by the classes you are registered for and any aid you may have remaining from the academic year.
The RSC Financial Aid Office will review your eligibility for summer aid after you have enrolled. You do not need to contact the RSC Financial Aid Office of your enrollment. Our office uses an automatic system to identify your summer enrollment.
You should check your 2026 AID YEAR “TO DO” list and “MESSAGE CENTER” by logging into OASIS to ensure all items requested by the financial aid office have been completed. You will receive a Financial Aid Notification in your message center if you are eligible for summer financial aid.
Academic Progress
If you are currently on Financial Aid Warning, a Financial Aid Academic Plan or Financial Aid Probation for the spring 2026 semester, the RSC Financial Aid Office will determine your financial aid eligibility for summer 2026 aid after all spring grades have been posted by the RSC Admissions Office.
If you are a new or transfer student:
New students or students that are transferring from other institutions will be reviewed for summer aid after the RSC Financial Aid Office receives your 2025-2026 FAFSA application.
If you are a transfer student, you must submit all official academic transcripts to the RSC Admissions Office before your federal aid eligibility can be determined. You must be degree seeking at RSC to receive federal financial aid.
You should check your 2026 AID YEAR “TO DO” list and “MESSAGE CENTER” by logging into OASIS to ensure all items requested by the financial aid office have been completed. You will receive a Financial Aid Notification in your message center if you are eligible for summer financial aid.

An example of how Year-Round Pell (YRP) works
- A student with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 0 to -1500 and enrolled in 12 or more credit hours is eligible for 100% ($7,395) Pell grant for the year, or 50% ($3,698) for the fall semester and 50% ($3,697) for the spring.
- Under the YRP program, this student could receive an additional 50% ($3,698) for the summer semester if they enrolled full-time (12 credits).
- If the student enrolls in less than 12 credit hours for the summer semester, the YRP would be calculated based on their summer enrollment intensity.
Census Dates
- The census date for students enrolled in the summer 2026 first 4-week and 8-week sessions is June 4, 2026.
- The census date for students enrolled only in the summer 2026 second 4-week session is July 2, 2026
- Any classes added after the census date are not eligible for additional Pell Grant funds.
Book Charges
- Tuition and Fees will be paid from your Pell Grant first and any remaining amount may be available as a book charge in the RSC Bookstore.
- Book charges are not available against student loan funds.
Summer Loans
- Many students use their full loan eligibility over the fall and spring semesters, leaving nothing available for summer. If possible, students should reserve some of their annual federal loan eligibility for the summer.
- You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours that cover an 8-week period to be eligible for a student loan during the summer semester. If you are enrolled in two different summer sessions, your loan will be applied to your account when you begin attendance in at least 6 credit hours.
- Enrollment in the interim session does not count toward the 6-credit-hour requirement.
- All summer loans must be disbursed in two equal disbursements.
