Environmental Training
The Environmental Training Center at Rose State College is the leader in wastewater and water certification training in Oklahoma.
Working closely with our Oklahoma state partners, we are continually evaluating and making improvements to all programs offered in an effort to meet and exceed industry needs.
The Water Operator & Lab Courses consist of 4 full-day sessions that make up a complete training solution for the following topics:
- Overview of Water Treatment
- Characteristics of Water
- Regulations and Management
- Reservoir Management and Intake Structures
- Coagulation and Sedimentation
- • Filtration and Disinfection
- Ground Water and Distribution Systems
- Operator Safety and Advanced Water Math
The Wastewater Operator & Lab Courses consist of 4 full-day sessions that make up a complete training solution for the following topics:
- Overview of Wastewater Treatment
- Characteristics of Wastewater
- Regulations and Management
- Preliminary, Primary, Secondary & Advanced Treatment
- Collection Systems
- Ground Water and Distribution Systems
- Sludge Digestion and Solids Handling
- Wastewater Treatment Ponds & Disinfection
The Distribution and Collection Courses consist of full-day sessions that make up a complete training solution to include the following topics and more:
- Collection & Distribution Safety
- Trenching/Excavation, HAZCOM, Confined Space
- Operation & Maintenance Water Distribution Systems
- Operation & Maintenance Wastewater Collection Systems
- Installation of Water & Wastewater Systems
- DEQ Rules & Regulations
Renewal Courses provide 4 hours of DEQ-approved training hours required for renewal of Oklahoma water, wastewater, or lab operators’ licenses. The classes cover topics including:
- Utility Operations Emergency Management
- Emergency Preparedness in the Hazardous Work Environment
- Emergency Response Protocols
- Personal & Professional Mitigation
- Recovery from Emergency Situations
- Courses may focus on any DEQ approved Water, Wastewater, or OSHA Safety Subject.
